By creating a SwapBay account or using the marketplace, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use SwapBay.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to buy or sell on SwapBay. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when creating an account or a listing.
Sellers may only list social media accounts they legitimately own and control. Compromised, phished, or stolen accounts, and accounts obtained through platform policy violations, are prohibited. Every listing is checked against SwapBay's eligibility rules before it goes live, and SwapBay may reject, suspend, or remove any listing at its discretion.
When a buyer pays for a listing, funds are held by SwapBay rather than released to the seller immediately. Funds are only released to the seller once the buyer confirms the account matches the listing, or the verification window closes without a dispute being raised.
After payment, buyers get a limited verification window to check that the account matches the listing before confirming. If the account doesn't match what was listed, the buyer can open a dispute within that window instead of confirming.
SwapBay charges a flat platform fee of ₦500 on completed sales, deducted from the seller's payout. This fee is not refundable once a sale is completed.
If a buyer reports that an account doesn't match its listing, SwapBay reviews the evidence from both parties and decides whether to release the funds to the seller or refund the buyer. SwapBay's decision on a dispute is final.
You may not use SwapBay to list fraudulent or misleading accounts, misrepresent audience size or engagement, circumvent SwapBay's payment system, or attempt to defraud another user. Violating these terms can result in listing removal, account suspension, or a permanent ban.
SwapBay may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, engages in fraud, or is the subject of repeated disputes, with or without notice.
SwapBay provides the marketplace and payment protection described above but isn't a party to the underlying sale between buyer and seller, and isn't liable for losses arising from a transaction outside of the protections described in these terms.
SwapBay may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of SwapBay after a change means you accept the updated terms.
